A Special, Special Night for the League’s Last Sonics

In a 2-2 series, grabbing Game 5 is paramount.

For the Brooklyn Nets, there was an extra sense of urgency last night. With Kyrie Irving out and James Harden playing hobbled, the NBA’s last two Sonics put their squad on their backs with the season on the line.

The box scores? Unbelievable.

Kevin Durant – 49/17/10 on 16-23 from the field. 2 blocks. 3 steals. 13-16 from the line.

Jeff Green – 27 points on 8-11 from the field. 7-8 from 3. Highest +/- (+12) on the Nets.

The greatest game of Kevin Durant’s career? It’s up there. Of Green’s? Very likely. He has some 40-point games to his name but nothing comes close to the impact of his performance last night.

Regardless of what NBA team you pull for these days, you loved what you saw last night if you’re a Sonics fan. Twitter was ablaze with Sonics posts. The whole basketball world wants to see us back. Let’s make it happen.
