We Got Next

Throughout their long, rich history, the Seattle SuperSonics delivered signature moment after signature moment, as well as sizable shares of heartbreak. They’re unarguably one of the NBA’s most classic franchises. The green and gold has been worn by many of the greatest to ever play and the sidelines have been patrolled by legends of the game.

When the NBA announced Seattle would host a preseason game in October 2018, the crew at Simply Seattle/Sonics Forever decided we had to do something big. We designed a shirt around the push for the Sonics’ return: We Got Next. The shirts (and rally signs) were handed out to Sonics fans attending the Golden State/Sacramento game at Key Arena. The message resonated with Seattleites - We Got Next vocalizes an unrelenting passion for our team, even amidst this hiatus. The message lives in Kevin Durant’s words, “It’s been a rough ten years…NBA is back in Seattle for tonight, but hopefully it’s back forever soon.”

Though all Sonics fans have experienced their share of anger, bitterness, or resignation during this interim, it’s time to look ahead. We’re closer than ever to getting an NBA team back in the Emerald City and Seattleites are hungry for it.
